DORA Summary Report Spanish

After students take the diagnostic assessment, every classroom teacher receives real-time narratives and data reporting to share with administrators, parents, or students.  Reports are easy-to-understand with grade-level scores and simple narratives. Some reports are designed for the special education teacher who needs to write student IEPs faster and with greater accuracy.  In addition, DORA can find present levels and determine weekly, monthly, or quarterly student goals.  When used with formative assessments, progress monitoring becomes automatic.  All data rolls up into a unified, vertically scaled grade-level score dataset.

Whether a student is in an EL, ELL, ELD, ESL, or bilingual program, LGL’s AI system places them in an ELA Edge program at the appropriate level of English language instruction from the beginning level to the advanced level. Core curriculum includes key components of language acquisition to develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Special instruction includes high-frequency words, phonemic awareness, phonics, oral reading fluency, spelling, vocabulary development, and reading comprehension strategies, as well as literary vocabulary and grammar study to support academic writing skills in all educational settings.

Lessons have been carefully curated to help all school-age students who need effective English language skills. This includes Response to Intervention (RTI) programs, programs for students with disabilities, English Learners (ELs), and students with diverse learning styles.

Every lesson provides explicit instruction and practice that is in a student’s ZPD and cognitively accessible through animations, songs, graphics, gamification, and interactivity. Students are engaged with properly leveled content that reinforces newly mastered critical skills and concepts during gamified instructional practice. Strategies can be integrated also into a classroom setting.

Common Questions

How does LGL work with English Learners and bilingual students who need accommodations?

Given the nature of Let’s Go Learn assessments, test accommodations will tend to have more flexibility based on the discretion of the resource teacher or the district policy. DORA, ADAM, and DOMA are diagnostic assessments, meaning that their data is generally not used for high-stakes accountability. As a result, if the student’s accommodation calls for the allowance of a calculator during a math assessment, Let’s Go Learn permits this accommodation to be made and does not have any strict policy against a teacher or administrator making this decision. Scores are not rolled up into a normalizing algorithm, which in the case of a high-stakes assessment might restrict scores with accommodations from being used.

Does LGL's English learner instruction include conversation topics?

Our lessons include characters and story animations that can be used for common conversations, and our academic content lessons are perfect for increasing speaking and listening focused on academic English conversations.

Can adult education classes use LGL's English learner instructional tools?

Adult Ed providers can integrate LGL instructional tools into ESL and ABE classes.  Learners start at their own level and rapidly move up through step-by-step, high interest lessons. Instructors track progress through detailed web-based reports. LGL tools help learners achieve breakthroughs to qualify for High School equivalency (HSE) and Career Technical Education (CTE) programs.

Does LGL offer professional development in English learner and bilingual education strategies?

Our professional development experts offer strategies for differentiating instruction for English learners, customized to focus on the best strategies for specific populations, including program designed for special purposes, for specific levels, for language-related needs of students with disabilities, or for specific home languages. For bilingual programs, professional development might include building cultural fluency or bridging language and content.

What type of practice tests are included with LGL's English learner curriculum?

What ESL levels does LGL content cover?

LGL ELA offers six different levels from beginning to advanced. Our six rigorous online levels take students from low beginner to advanced ESL standards using a self paced and individualized approach. Each level requires 20-30 hours to complete, allowing students to rapidly progress with enough time on task. Levels are comprised of hundreds of bite-sized lessons that can each be completed in 10-20 minutes. These engaging lessons are packed with songs, video, and games to drive motivation and learning and rapidly improve each student’s reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
